Electronic payment column for underground waste containers

The system was developed by the autonomous municipal urban development company of Knokke-Heist (AGSO) and manufacturer Sulo. The first electronic payment kiosk was placed in the Bronlaan. This location is seen as a drive-out where you can properly dispose of your waste after a vacation stay without having to consider the next round of collection. That is the big advantage of the underground residual waste containers with payment column.

The containers are powered by solar panels, although there will also be locations where they are connected to the electricity grid. The payment column is equipped with an opening for coins - they too remain a payment option - and a card reader, in addition to a bright screen. After paying, the lid of the container opens and the waste can be dumped.
