When designing columns, kiosks, and other structures, we’re often asked which material is the best choice: aluminum or steel. However, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. The right choice depends on one key question: what function does the material need to serve?

Why do we choose aluminum?

For our kiosks, columns, and revolving doors, we often choose aluminum. The material is lightweight, making it easy to transport and install. At the same time, it remains sturdy enough for heavy-duty use.

In addition, aluminum is resistant to various weather conditions and suitable for a wide range of locations. This allows us to build durable solutions that will continue to function reliably for years to come.

Why do we choose steel?

For applications where sturdiness is key, we deliberately choose steel. That’s why we use it for our traffic islands and other structures that need to be able to withstand rough handling.

Thanks to its robust properties, steel is particularly well-suited for locations where vehicles pass or where extra protection is needed. This allows us to create solutions that are not only functional but also withstand intensive use over the long term.

The Right Choice for the Right Application

The choice between aluminum and steel isn’t about which material is better. Both have their own strengths and areas of application.

The most important question, therefore, is not which material to choose, but which material best suits the solution’s function. By matching the material to the application, you combine functionality, durability, and an optimal service life.
