Parking at Courtyard by Marriott Ghent
With the opening of three new hotels—Courtyard by Marriott Ghent, Holiday Inn, and Residence Hotel—there was a need for a shared yet securely managed parking facility.
Alphatronics, together with Capacity by Cegeka, provided a solution that keeps out unwanted visitors and offers hotel guests a smooth and hassle-free parking experience.

What was the challenge?
The hotels are located next to the Planet Group Arena, where parking is in high demand, especially on game and event days.
The parking lot is visible on Google Maps, which leads non-guests to try to drive in for free.
In addition, the three hotels share two common entrances and exits, which presented additional challenges
The chosen solution
Upon arrival, guests use the kiosk to select the hotel they are staying at. From that point on, the system automatically follows the rules, rates, and settings of the selected hotel.
Each hotel:
- has its own secure management portal
- can only view its own data
- can operate completely autonomously, without coordination with the other hotels
How does the system work
- Visitors who park for less than one hour can exit automatically at no charge.
- Hotel guests can pay for parking at the payment kiosk in the hotel; their license plate serves as their access pass.
- Other visitors pay for their parking hours at the payment terminal upon exiting.
- The entire system operates ticketlessly via license plate recognition.
Hardware supplied
- 4 DBK barriers (entrance and exit)
- 4 Smart Line control kiosks with intercom and QR code scanner at the entrances
- Payment terminals at the exits
- Payment kiosk in the hotel lobby
- Payment kiosk in the underground parking garage (Residence & Holiday Inn)
- StrongLine kiosk with badge reader and intercom at the building entrance (Residence Hotel)
- 4 ANPR cameras on StrongLine kiosks for license plate recognition
- Alphatronics traffic island with bollards
