Underground parking RTBF Brussels

The RTBF's underground parking lot was recently renovated with an intelligent access control system based on license plate recognition (ANPR).

The goal: keep unwanted visitors out, while allowing employees, suppliers and regular users easy and safe access.

This is how the system works

Upon arrival, each license plate is automatically scanned.

  • Known license plates are automatically granted access to the underground parking lot.
  • Unknown vehicles are not automatically admitted: the driver can contact reception or security via the intercom on the pillar.

They decide in real time whether the visitor is granted access or must turn around.

Thus, the underground parking remains exclusive to authorized users, while exceptions can be handled easily.

Access for charging stations

For access to the underground parking lot, a separate zone is provided for charging stations, closed off with speedgates.

The speedgates are linked to our column and are included in the system.
Only vehicles with a linked license plate are given automatic access here, so that the charging stations remain exclusive to authorized users.

Posted hardware

Installation at RTBF consists of:

  • 6 DBK barriers with articulated arm - suitable for underground applications
  • 4 ANPR cameras - for license plate recognition at entrances and exits
  • 3 CubeLine pillars with IZIX hardware - with integrated intercom function
  • One Evoloop sensor per barrier - to ensure security
  • 1 ANPR camera linked to speed gates - for the secure loading zone

Customized access

Thanks to integration with IZIX, access rights are managed completely digitally.
The combination of ANPR recognition, intercom access, local control and selective access to the loading zone ensures safe, flexible and user-friendly operation.

A future-oriented parking solution that perfectly combines technology, comfort and control - fully customized for the RTBF.
